The OCIA Process is for those interested in becoming Catholic. This involves weekly meetings with scripture sharing and prayer, a teaching topic and discussion with time for questions. Meetings are held from September to mid December, recommencing in late January and continuing until Easter, the highlight of the church year, and when those who are ready are received into the Catholic Faith. Three further meetings will take place between Easter and Pentecost Sunday, 16 May 2027. Participants are supported by a committed Catholic during this faith journey.
The 2026 OCIA Process will begin with three “Come and See” sessions which will take place on Wednesday 26 August, 2 September and 9 September. Wednesday 16 September will be set aside as a Reflection Time. The OCIA Process itself will start on Wednesday 23 September and continue through until Wednesday 16 December 2026. The Process will resume on Wednesday 20 January 2027. The meetings will be held in the Parish Mission Centre, 4 Munroe Street, Napier from 7.30-8.30pm.
