Parish
Administration and Mission Centre
Work
continues on the Parish Administration and Mission
Centre. The beautiful weather over the past week has
seen the roof fully completed and early next week the
scaffolding will come down and the beauty of the design
will be fully revealed.
We are
very grateful to those generous parishioners who have
already made a donation to this wonderful Parish asset.
We will be launching a major fundraising campaign
shortly but if you wish to make a donation now the
details are:
Catholic
Parish of Napier Fundraising: 02-0630-0288045-015
All
donations are tax deductible and each donation will be
receipted either through your planned giving donations
or a separate tax receipt.
Thank You
A
sincere thank you to those parishioners who sent
messages of prayers to us while the Marist community
were in isolation last week. It was very much
appreciated. We are grateful that we only experienced
mild symptoms of the virus. We are all fit and well and
looking forward to seeing you this Sunday.
I am
very grateful to Father Mike Wooller and Father David
Kennerley who celebrated Parish Masses last weekend.
They are always willing to help when needed. Thank you
also to those who helped with ‘Liturgy of the Word and
Holy Communion’ during the week for our parishioners. I
am very grateful.
Synod 2023
As you
are aware Pope Francis has called for a Synod in 2023
and has asked Catholics throughout the world to journey
together in reflecting upon the Church in the present
and constructing a vision for the future.
Last
Saturday representatives from parishes throughout the
Diocese of Palmerston North attended ‘Te Reo o Hewa’ - a
Synod Hui. Our Parish was represented and from all
reports it was a very successful gathering.
Please
keep ‘Synod 2023’ in your prayers.
Congratulations
We
warmly congratulate Daphne and Patrick Wells who
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last Thursday.
We thank God for their deep faith and commitment to
married life and we wish them every blessing on this
very special occasion of their diamond wedding
anniversary.
