Care of Creation Activities, 2020
We continued our ongoing activities (see 2019).
We also organised 2 beach clean ups (March and September).
Because of Covid-19 restrictions the planned Season of
Creation Sunday did not take place.
The Reuse and Recycle Tables were a new monthly initiative
together with St Mary's Saint Vincent de Paul, starting in
Care of Creation, 2019 achievements
Two Beach Clean Ups, in conjunction with the Anglican EJP
Network, in March during Conservation Week (30 attendees)
and September during Sea Week (70 attendees).
Produced COC promo leaflet in time for the retreat “Our
Place in the World”, given by Fr. Peter Healy SM, in
Assisted with organising the retreat, including preparing
the prayer focus arrangement.
Selected hymns, music and Prayers of the Faithful for
Masses on September 1 (World Day of Prayer for the Care of
Ongoing throughout the year:
Continued ongoing personal prayer and eco conversion;
Regular eco tips in the parish weekly newsletter;
Contributions to Sunday's Prayers of the Faithful;
Upkeep of COC pages on parish web site;
Submissions in relation to the Napier City Council's
consultation on water management.
